Community Guidelines & Moderation
The Uneed Community is a space for builders to connect, share progress, learn from each other, and give feedback. To keep the feed interesting and valuable for everyone, we have a few rules in place — and we moderate actively.
You can find the full rules on the Community Rules page.
Our goal
We want Uneed Community to be a place where you can discover interesting stories, learn something, and connect with other makers. We don't want it to become a wall of self-promotion posts — like some subreddits, for example.
That's why we encourage posts that are thoughtful, helpful, or interesting to read — and discourage low-effort promotional content.
The rules at a glance
- Be respectful. No insults, harassment, or personal attacks.
- Self-promotion is OK, spam is not. Share your work, but don't flood the feed with repetitive or low-effort posts.
- No NSFW content. Keep everything suitable for a general audience.
- Be honest. Don't mislead about your products or services.
- Give constructive feedback. Focus on ideas, not people.
- Have fun & help others. We're all builders here.
What can get you banned?
The most common reason for a temporary ban is low-effort self-promotion. Here are some examples of what we consider problematic:
- A short post with just a link to your product and nothing else
- Posting only promotional content without ever engaging with others
- Repetitive posts about the same product
- Using the Community solely as a marketing channel
A good rule of thumb: if your first-ever post is a promotion, it will likely be flagged. Instead, consider introducing yourself, asking a question, commenting on other posts, or sharing something you've learned — before promoting your product.
What happens when you get banned?
Bans are temporary (usually 24 hours). During that time, you won't be able to create posts, comments, or like content. You'll receive an email with the details and the expiration time.
We always try to explain the reason so you can adjust your approach going forward.
How to get unbanned
If you think the ban was a mistake, simply reply to the ban email and we'll review it. If you understand the reason and agree to follow the guidelines, we can lift the ban early — just let us know.
Tips for great community posts
- Introduce yourself — tell people what you're building and why
- Share your journey — progress updates, lessons learned, challenges you're facing
- Ask for feedback — on your landing page, pricing, positioning, etc.
- Help others — answer questions, give constructive feedback
- Be genuine — the community responds best to authentic, thoughtful posts
The Community works best when everyone contributes value. Self-promotion is welcome, but it should be part of a broader engagement with the community — not the only thing you do.
