Uneed VS Product Hunt: the differences
Let's start with something important:
We still you should still launch on Product Hunt.
The existence of multiple launch platforms is a good thing for you: it ensures greater visibility among different audience.
But hey, we exist for a reason: there are a few key differences between Uneed and Product Hunt.
Guaranteed Visibility
✅ Uneed limits daily launches to 20 products maximum, guaranteeing every submitted product appears on the homepage.
❌ Product Hunt offers unlimited daily submissions with no guarantee of homepage visibility. Many products (most of them actually) get buried without being featured gaining traction.
However, this has its drawbacks: on Product Hunt, you can schedule a launch for free anytime you want. On Uneed, you have to either go through the waiting line, or pay $29.99 to skip it and launch when you want.
👉🏻 We believe in quality, not quantity.
Fair Competition
✅ Uneed: No vote manipulation or bot purchasing allowed. Rankings reflect genuine community engagement. How do we do it?
We have a captcha at registration... It might seem like nothing, but it's important. On the opposite to most launch platforms, it shows that we do not want to boost our stats with bots.
We have vote multipliers. We increase the upvote value of our most active members, reducing the power of newly created accounts. Again, a simple but effective thing to do.
We monitor and track a lot of metrics to make sure we can spot weird patterns and behaviors.
❌ Product Hunt: Susceptible to artificial vote inflation through bot networks and paid promotion services
Making the Most of Both
You don't have to choose just one platform. Many successful creators launch on both, and we advise you to do the same.
Product Hunt has more traffic than Uneed, that's why we advise you to take your shot. If you manage to get featured, bingo! Make sure to filter the bots from your analytics, but you'll still have a fair amount of traffic 🙂.
